Career-related services offered by the partners of the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board focus on meeting customers from Hunterdon and Somerset Counties where they are.
- The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center Employment Services office and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS) office at 75 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Somerville are open for walk-in services 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding state holidays. - The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center at Bartles Corner Road in Flemington closed on June 22 and will open at a new nearby location in Flemington the week of August 17. Go to the Contact Us page for details.
- The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Training Services Center on the second floor of 27 Warren St. in Somerville is open for walk-in services from 8:30 a.m.to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding county holidays. Call 908-541-5780 or email onestop@co.somerset.nj.us.
In addition to in-person, all offices offer services through e-mail, phone and virtual platforms. A virtual orientation session for new customers of the Training Center is conducted at 10 a.m. Fridays, and virtual and in-person career-webinars on different topics are presented an ongoing basis by the Training Center and the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board. Virtual Career Workshop: Closing the Gap! Overcoming the Barriers to Employment
Job seekers are invited to Closing the Gap! Overcoming the Barriers to Employment,a virtual career workshop being conducted from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 15.
Opportunity exists at every stage of life but at times the challenges to getting to where you want to go seem very high – particularly for those with barriers to employment. This interactive workshop focuses on honest discussion and realistic strategies designed to move your job search forward, with tips and next steps that can be used to create a personal employment plan. Those needing assistance with building an employment plan may include: the justice-involved, youth with limited skills, employed individuals in low-income jobs seeking new opportunities, and other job seekers looking for targeted guidance.
The workshop presenter is Anthony Sharp Jr., a workforce development professional, national workshop leader, and certified digital career strategist.
