Career-related services offered by the partners of the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board focus on meeting customers from Hunterdon and Somerset Counties where they are.
- The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center Employment Services office and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS) office at 75 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Somerville are open for walk-in services 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding state holidays. - The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center at 8 Bartles Corner Road in Flemington is open for walk-in services with state and county partners 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Wednesday, and by appointment on Thursday and Friday, as well as phone and virtual services, excluding county holidays. - The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Training Services Center on the second floor of 27 Warren St. in Somerville is open for walk-in services from 8:30 a.m.to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding county holidays. Call 908-541-5780 or email onestop@co.somerset.nj.us.
In addition to in-person, all offices offer services through e-mail, phone and virtual platforms. A virtual orientation session for new customers of the Training Center is conducted at 10 a.m. Fridays, and virtual and in-person career-webinars on different topics are presented an ongoing basis by the Training Center and the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board. Free Community Resource Event at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
The Somerset County Department of Human Services, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, The Giving Network, and the Somerset County Library System of New Jersey will present a Free Community Resource Event from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 15, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 300 Union Ave., Somerville.
This event will provide free resources and essential items to Somerset County residents, including household goods and more (while supplies last). This event is open to everyone — no personal information is required — so individuals and families can easily access the support they need.
Local agencies and organizations are invited to host a table at this event. The tabling time is 1:30 to 5:30 pm. Organizers offer this as an opportunity to engage directly with the community and share service information. Agencies interested in taking part may go here: https://forms.office.com/g/NuM9z7YchB. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 1, and vendors will be notified on May 8.
This is an outdoor, rain-or-shine event (organizers will monitor for severe weather). Participating agencies must bring their own tables, and tents or canopies are strongly encouraged.
