Career-related services offered by the partners of the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board focus on meeting customers from Hunterdon and Somerset Counties where they are.
- The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center Employment Services office and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS) office at 75 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Somerville are open for walk-in services 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding state holidays. - The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center at 8 Bartles Corner Road in Flemington is open for walk-in services with state and county partners 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Wednesday, and by appointment on Thursday and Friday, as well as phone and virtual services, excluding county holidays. - The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Training Services Center on the second floor of 27 Warren St. in Somerville is open for walk-in services from 8:30 a.m.to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding county holidays. Call 908-541-5780 or email onestop@co.somerset.nj.us.
In addition to in-person, all offices offer services through e-mail, phone and virtual platforms. A virtual orientation session for new customers of the Training Center is conducted at 10 a.m. Fridays, and virtual and in-person career-webinars on different topics are presented an ongoing basis by the Training Center and the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board. Edison Job Corps Academy Community Relations Council Luncheon
As New Jersey’s only Job Corps center, Edison Job Corps Academy works to serve as a premier workforce development resource for young adults ages 16 to 24.
Its programs include 12 Career Technical Training programs, pre-apprenticeship pathways, industry-recognized credentials, and strategic employer partnerships, aimed at supporting the next generation for careers, higher education, apprenticeships, and lifelong success.
Workforce Development Boards, American Job Centers, One-Stop Partners, employers, educators, labor leaders, government representatives, and community partners are invited to attend the next meeting of the Job Corps’ Community Relations Council (CRC) running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 28, at the academy in Edison. Lunch will be provided by the academy’s culinary arts students.
The council is designed to strengthen partnerships, expand workforce pathways, and create greater access and opportunity for youth throughout New Jersey. This includes expanding workforce opportunities for youth, strengthening pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship pathways, enhancing Work-Based Learning opportunities, and building stronger relationships with workforce and employer partners.
