Career-related services offered by the partners of the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board focus on meeting customers from Hunterdon and Somerset Counties where they are.
- The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center Employment Services office and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS) office at 75 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Somerville are open for walk-in services 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding state holidays. - The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center at Bartles Corner Road in Flemington closed on June 22 and will open at a new nearby location in Flemington the week of August 17. Go to the Contact Us page for details.
- The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Training Services Center on the second floor of 27 Warren St. in Somerville is open for walk-in services from 8:30 a.m.to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding county holidays. Call 908-541-5780 or email onestop@co.somerset.nj.us.
In addition to in-person, all offices offer services through e-mail, phone and virtual platforms. A virtual orientation session for new customers of the Training Center is conducted at 10 a.m. Fridays, and virtual and in-person career-webinars on different topics are presented an ongoing basis by the Training Center and the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board. Central Jersey Housing Resource Center (CJHRC) will present a webinar, “I Want to Rent an Affordable Unit – How Do I Begin?” from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 15.
New Jersey rents continue to rise. From 2022 to 2026, most counties see steady year‑over‑year increases, including a 32.86% jump in one‑bedroom rents from 2021–2024. NJ remains one of the top 10 most expensive rental markets in the country.
This free webinar will cover how to apply to NJ’s Affordable Housing Program, the documents needed, and how to estimate what rent the applicant can afford. It also explains how credit impacts rental approval and reviews Section 8 and NJ’s SRAP vouchers. Other helpful housing resources will be shared.
