October 27 Workshop for Employers Focuses on the Value of Inclusion
Employers in Hunterdon and Somerset counties are invited to attend Creating an Inclusive Workplace, a virtual workshop being conducted from 12 to 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 27.

Partners of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development and the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board are leading this free event being conducted during National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM).
This discussion will be led by Vocational Rehabilitation experts, who will share insights on disability awareness, inclusion, and best practices for supporting individuals with disabilities in the workplace. Participants will:
- Learn practical strategies to foster an inclusive work environment.
- Deepen your understanding of disability awareness.
- Engage in meaningful conversation and Q&A.
The event aims to strengthen workforce partners’ commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and equity.
Employers may register using the QR code in this flyer or by going to this link: https://bit.ly/3UcozPd.
The meeting link will be shared with all registrants. For questions or more information, contact Barbara.Stockton@dol.nj.gov.
(Please note that this workshop was originally scheduled for October 5 but moved to a later date to accommodate more participation.)
A second notification
Another event for employers, a Manufacturing Workforce Language Access and Solutions Conference planned for Wednesday, October 14, at Middlesex College in Edison, has been cancelled.
This free regional event was being presented by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board and the Middlesex County Office of Workforce and Career Development.
After reviewing registrations, these partners have decided not to conduct the event on October 14 as planned. This conversation needs strong participation from area employers, and the partners are regrouping to bring it back in the future in a format that delivers on that.
The work behind the summit continues. The partners and UnDesked have assembled regional data on the language barriers facing New Americans in Central New Jersey workplaces. For a copy of the findings or a short conversation about them, please email info@thegrwdb.org.
Once developed, plans for a future session will be announced.
