SUMMARY:GRWDB Literacy Committee meeting
DESCRIPTION:Through policy\, oversight\, and planning\, the GRWDB ensures that workforce training and education investments are responsive to and meet the needs of employers and jobseekers and is responsible for maintaining committees to help inform decision-making around services and priorities for targeted populations. One of those includes the GRWDB’s Literacy Committee\, which works with Title II literacy providers and volunteer literacy organizations in Hunterdon and Somerset counties to ensure literacy training is connected to the other services offered in Greater Raritan’s workforce system. \nThe agenda for the July 16 meeting will include an important discussion on the evolution of First Step Basic English program\, a look ahead to Title II funding and related programming\, and a discussion on assisting program participants get connected to other services. (Please note that this meeting replaces a previously scheduled July 30 meeting of the GRWDB Literacy Committee.) \nThis meeting will be conducted on Zoom.
