SUMMARY:GRWDB Literacy Committee meeting
DESCRIPTION:Through policy\, oversight\, and planning\, the GRWDB ensures that workforce training and education investments are responsive to and meet the needs of employers and jobseekers and is responsible for maintaining committees to help inform decision-making around services and priorities for targeted populations. One of those includes the GRWDB’s Literacy Committee\, which works with Title II literacy providers and volunteer literacy organizations in Hunterdon and Somerset counties to ensure literacy training is connected to the other services offered in Greater Raritan’s workforce system. \nThe agenda for the May 14 quarterly committee meeting will include updates of current programs and a discussion on upcoming NJDOL grant opportunities that the GRWDB may respond to\, based upon committee feedback. Representatives from the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board and Norwescap will be joined by a human resources professional and a certified financial counselor who will take part in a panel to talk about available services and offer actionable ideas and next steps.
