Positively Influence Community Youth

2024 Summer Youth Work Experience Program

Employer Request for Application (RFA)

Deadline April 23

What you can accomplish

Achieve genuine satisfaction and emotional fulfillment when you help mold the minds of community youth by participating in the Summer Youth Work Experience Program sponsored by the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board.

This community-building program, now in its fifth consecutive year, will support 90 positions, enabling up to 90 area youths to get paid for work this summer while learning new skillsets and exploring careers.

Employers accepted into the program will be reimbursed a tax-free stipend of $16 an hour to pay a young adult a total of up to $3,200. That’s enough to provide an emerging leader in our community with 180 hours of work between May 20 and October 14.

Your company can BE the difference. Our young residents are looking for opportunities to help build their confidence and take their initial steps into successful career journeys.

Who should apply

If you are a private or public employer in Hunterdon and Somerset counties with available part-time summer positions, you are invited to take part in what can be a life-changing program for a young adult in our community.

Young adults are looking for positions such as children’s summer program supervision; clerical and various office support work; administration support and maintenance work.

Submit an RFA today and help positively impact our children’s lives with meaningful work experience.

The deadline to submit an RFA is 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23

“This program is having an expanding impact on businesses in our two counties, while offering a valuable introduction to lifelong positive work habits. Other opportunities can happen, too. Three participants last year continued to work with their employer after the summer ended,” said Jeanne Cassano, the GRWDB’s contract compliance and engagement specialist and coordinator for the summer youth program.
